Our Story
Van Steijn-Damen BV is a family business founded on January 1, 1954, by Cock van Steijn and his wife, Bep van Steijn-Damen. This is also where the name Van Steijn-Damen comes from.
In 1984, Edwin van Steijn, Cock and Bep's youngest son, took over the company. Since then, he and his wife Dorothe, along with a team of six employees, have run the business with great dedication.
On July 1, 2016, Youri van Steijn, Edwin and Dorothe's eldest son, joined the family business. On January 1, 2025, their youngest son, Dani van Steijn, also joined the family business.
Van Steijn Damen started growing flower bulbs in 1954. The company expanded in 1963 with a nursery for cut flowers such as hyacinths, daffodils, and tulips.
Since 1984, the nursery has been further developed, focusing on the production of potted bulb flowers. This growth has been so significant that the forcing of cut flowers has ceased entirely.
Van Steijn-Damen is a high-quality supplier to garden centers, retailers, supermarkets, DIY stores, and delivery drivers. Our range includes products with and without added value.
In 2018, we proudly expanded our range to include unique bulbs and perennials in elegant paper pot covers. In 2024, we introduced our atmospheric arrangements under the exclusive "Enjoy our Passion" label. This way, Van Steijn-Damen offers not only quality but also experience and inspiration for every green enthusiast.
